    I have 2 comps. Both with Xp Pro. I have adelphia cable and using webstar cable modem with usb and cat5 port. Usb works on both comps, but cat5 doesnt work on either comp. How do i set it up to have internet on both comp. Both comp have network card.

    The easiest way will be to get one of those Cable/DSL routers and let it take care of it for you.

    If you know enough basic networking you could also hook the machines up with a hub and let internet connection shareing give it a go, but if you do then the machine with the direct connection will need 2 network cards (unless your using a usb cable modem) and will have to be on when the other machine is on the internet.

    Thats why the router is the best route for simple shareing.

  3. I use a D-Link DI604 router, and I would recommend it. It's $49.99 (Best Buy has a $10 rebate on it as well) and includes a built-in firewall, filtering options, and some other goodies.

    Flay is right -- a router is much better than using a hub and having to leave one computer on all the time
