Hello,
I noticed a problem when trying to pull an encoded file into MyDVD to burn, when it said it could not find the file, but it was there.
Turns out, the encoded file, according to AVIcodec has a duration of zero for the one hour of D8 tape I captured using Windows Movies Maker.
The file size is 2.4GB.
The video portion is 0.0b, 4397kBps, 29,970fps, 720x480(16:9), MPEG2.
The audio portion is zeroes all the way across.
Previous to this one hour D8 tape, another D8 hour encoded without any apparent problems. Using the same settings in Wizard, the file came out:
video portion: 1.86GB, 4337kbps, 29,970fps, 720x480(16:9) MPEG2
audio portion: 181MB, 416kbps, 48kHz, 2 chan, MPEG1 audio layer.
A different one hour D8 tape yielded a M2V file plus a WAV file, again with the same Wizard settings.
Are these symptoms of something I should know about?
Am I going backwards here?
Should I be doing the audio separate? Should I not use the Wizard?
Thanks for your time.
ps. should this be in Newbie?
