mpeg 4

anyone know where to get a mpeg 4 codec/decompressor. im trying to open an avi but i need a decompressor for format mp42.

i have wmp 9 but the message popped up in virtualdub and i cant open the file in tmpgenc. this is wat the message said: could not locate decompressor for format mp42 (microsoft high speed mpeg-4 v2. virtualdub requires a video for windows(vfw)compatible codec to decompress video. directshow codecs such as those used by windows meida player are not suitable.

when i clicked on the download link for mpeg4 codec it lead me to the microsoft website. the codec is in wmp9 but virtualdub said that its not suitable.

well i downloaded this script form a site thats supposed to trick vd into opening the file but i dont know where to put it.

i fixed the problem, or so i hope. i installed the microsoft mpeg 4 v1,2 and 3. thanks dvdrhelp.
