  1. hi. im currently putting smallville episodes onto dvd. i have done 3 dvd discs so far and had no problems, but now im on the last disc, and on the last episode i have run into a problem. im using the project wizard in tmpgenc to make the dvd mpg file im trying to put 6 episodes on dvd. i have converted 5 of the 6 no problem, on the last one, after running the wizard the size of the mpg tmpgenc says it will be around 1600mb and 39% of the dvd. but the other episodoes were about 700-800mb and 16% of the dvd. why am i getting this problem on this episode only? i tried it on my brothers computer, and we using the same version. his episodes comes up as 700-800mb and 16% of the dvd. all the settings i picked were exactly the same as the other 5 episodes. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling. also before the mpgs use to come up dark when i was converting something else, and on my brothers computer it was fine. using the same file. someone said i had to format, but i found away around it, hopefully theres a way around this too.

    thankx

  2. Don't really know what to say...maybe someone else does, but if you can't find a fix, then just use your bro's comp.

  3. Hi,
This isn't any help, but I'm having similar things happen when I encode with TMPGenc 2.5.
Each time, I'm encoding D8 movies captured through Windows Movie Maker.
With the settings the same ( in the Wizard ), I get different resulting files each time.
One time, the resultant encoded file is a M2V file plus a WAV file. Other times it's a MPEG-2 file
This last time, was a M2V plus WAV file, but they were very small compared to the others I authored and burned, for the same one hour of digital tape.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

ps. my trial period is running out with the TMPGenc. Is it just best to order the Plus? Or what other course of action should I take?

  4. im gonna try it on my brothers computer and see what happens, if it works great. tmpgenc usually locks up on his computer during the encode. but i rather have it working on mines without formatting.

  5. Recheck your TMPGEnc settings and the specs on the source file--very closely, be anal about it--to be exactly the same as your other 5 episodes.

    Hello

Try going to the SOURCE RANGE option and select the ENTIRE film from the very first frame to the last. I have a feeling that will fix it ... happened to me once or twice when I was encoding an entire clip but didn't select it. Don't know why but when I selected it under SOURCE RANGE it worked.
