    Why wear sun glasses?
Why does Keanu get paid $20 million a movie when his acting ability is on the same level as a porn star?
    you'll like this even more:

for the 2 sequels, he's getting paid $30M vs. 15% of the US gross. do the math. if each movie does $300million in the US, our hero will take in $90 million dollars this year. nice.

Well, for me, I made the decision NOT to bother w/ watching previews
and comming attractions and the likes, cause I noticed w/ me, its starting
to get to the point that those so called "neat" and "catchy" scenes are
quickly becoming boring and I don't want to loose my one-shot experience
when I DO finally watch it, which will probably be on DVD anyways.

Also, I'ld like to point out, that I'm starting to get bad vibes on this Movie
because if you've noticed that they've gone out of their way to even have
the cast talk about the Movie. It's like, even THEY are "wiery" of it's success.
    .
    .
On the NEWS, the reviewer said tha this Movie has mostly fighting scenes
and no "real" dialog or story-line or plot. Leaves you a little confused.
So.., I have to wonder.. Is is worth going out and seeing it.. ?? .. ?? I guess
    not, after all.

Unfortunately, they've pretty much played the previews a little too much,
and all but worn me out on it

I will wait till it hits the shelves instead.

I just downloaded the trailer from the link in this post to watch again, and that is definitely NOT the trailer I saw at the end of the movie. I don't know if that is another trailer or there are multiple trailers for Revolutions. I wouldn't put multiple trailers past the Brothers...but I am 100% confident that the trailer I downloaded is NOT the trailer I saw after all those looooooong credits.

I know b/c the trailer I saw had a woman narrating it in the beginning. Anyone else remember this?

Codesmythe, what, did you not see the first film or something?! He stopped bullets at the end of that, and beat hell out of an agent with one hand behind his back.

Gazoragan... interesting theory... though i never remember Judas killing any other disciples, nor Jesus being brought out of some dreamworld and taught his skills by some guy called Morpheus

What I have heard - that's heard, not watched for self, mind - of this film is that somehow Neo can't really do anything more than stop bullets, fly a bit, or do slightly faster martial arts, which is a bit disappointing. I was hoping for him to be warping the matrix code (such as used to blow agents apart) and there being some kind of plot element where he's having to warp things in the human teams favour faster than the matrix can repair itself, etc... :/

i guess he's learning. cuz he does do something...can't tell, it might spoil it for you. also, he can see when he first meets that one guy that takes him to the oracle that he is different by looking at the code.

  8. Fortunately for the porn stars, they get paid for something other than their gift for words. The only role I could ever see Keanu Reeves play and not be reminded of how badly he sucks would be some punk surfer from SoCal who just smokes weed all day and uses the word "uh..." at the start and finish of every sentence. He sucked in Speed and every other movie I've ever seen with him, and the the incredible plot of the first Matrix drowned out his pitiful acting.

Now THAT would be bogus! So why is he popular?
I guess the girls think he's cute, but why would guys pay to see him (they must or he woulden't get paid so much)?

the matrix was rated R for violence and sexual content (the nipples during the Zion techno-rave scene).

  11. Just watched it, coulda been more original, like the oracle quotes or speeches from the first movie. Absolutely upsetting ending. The rest was just so"um rad". I for one(male) happen to like his movies. If it wasn't for the ending, this woulda been much better than the first, I think the second was "uh" almost on the same scale with the first, if it wasn't for the car chase which puts this one "um" "off the hook"."uh, over the top" :P 8)

  17. In the US Showing the effects and the actual wounds that kill gets the R. The Bullets hitting boddies and showing bullet holes and blood = R.

X-2 people being killed but the damage being done is only implied - PG-13

Really that's all it boils down to... In the original matrix the R rating was sealed in the Lobby scene.

This movie could have been PG-13 if they wanted to try for it, I doubt it would have screwed it up (any more than it already was) I enjoyed the movie, but it was less than expected(hoped?) for...

I would like to mention this, while the movies running time was over 2 hours... the actual content of the movie was more like 90 minutes, there i just that damn much slow motion.
We will either find a way or make one - Hannibal

After seeing the Matrix reloaded in Nice on saturday evening, I too was dissapointed. ALthough, how can a sequel ever be supirior to the original. When I first saw the Matrix back in 99 the thing that amazed me was that the film was so original. The action scenes, the philosophy and the idea behind the matrix itself seemed ingenious.

The matrix:reloaded incorporates the same genre of action sequences and tries to pull off more deep discussions, but we've seen it all before. I felt that showing the audience the city of Zion was a bad idea as it seemed to be a barbaric civilaisation.

Actually, the directors got the idea from a guy named Plato who lived a few THOUSAND years ago. I too, thought The Matrix was pretty original when it came out, but I, like you, never read Plato. Even many of the names used are from Greek mythology.

  21. I thought the Matrix reloaded was GREAT!

If you haven't seen the movie yet stop reading at this point.

I agree the love scenes could have been deleted. But the story was great!

Here are some of my theories:

My original thought was that Neo was getting powerful enough that he was affecting the real world. However, after further analysis, I figured that Zion and everything (the rebellion) is actually part of the Matrix. The Architect mentioned some very important facts, this rebellion has ocurred 5 times before. A 1% of the people do not want to accept the Matrix life (normal), that 1% grows and eventually takes over then the Matrix has to start all over again. Thats equivalent to the old Windows program whenever you install software it slowly corrupts your registry, eventually you have to reformat (RELOAD) your hard drive and start with a clean install of windows.

These are weaker proof of that theory, Neo is another program he just doesn't know it yet, thats how the Oricle was able to know about his dreams. Close to the end of the movie, Neo was realizing that he was still in the Matrix when he said "Wait, there's something wrong!" Then he killed the sentinels with the wave of his hand.

This is another of the theory of mine, when Neo kissed the girl thats when the RELOAD of the new software (uprade) of the Matrix began. Part of the choppiness (jumping from scene to scene) was the Matrix software being RELOADED again. Apparently, Microsoft was the creator of the Matrix because it has a lot of BUGS in it!!

I don't know if anything I mentioned is correct, but I will have to see it again to see if I can get more clues!!

At least this film got one person to think.

    Pretty good ideas, Petco.

That started me wondering if somehow, there was more to this movie than I had originally thought. Perhaps this movie is so deep, that the majority of us are way too slow to figure it out.

That, in my mind, would make it at least a partial success.

Then I remembered, the original was deep, but not so deep that it's audiance coulden't "get it". After all, what good is a message if no one understands it?

In that case, I can rest easy knowing that this fillm pretty much failed after all, at least in comparison to the original.

Besides, any time you are that desperate to find meaning, you will most assuredly be disappointed.

that's the trick though. if you havent seen the whole story, watching just one part will confuse you. the only exception is indeed the original. the biggest failure was not re-establishing the story so far. the entire saga is 4 parts (only some of the animatrix was related to the story), The 1999 original, the video game and this years two sequels. until we've seen the whole saga we cant really offer any commentary on one part of the story (star wars episode I).

  24. There are even earlier clues that this has already happened in the Matrix. Its in the alley at the beginning when Smith says to himself(the other Smith) that its happening just like last time. Then he says, "Well, not exactly like last time" The architect re-affirms this and lets us know that its happenned 5 times already.

I thought also that Zion was also a beta version of the Matrix or an egg within an egg. But I remember, and I'm pretty sure, the architect says that Neo is only human. That hope was one of the humans best and worst qualities. Or something like that. The reason Neo can now sense the sentinels in the real world (outside the Matrix) is cause of the transformation he had with Smith. They in essence share each others powers.

If you stayed to watch the trailor you'll notice also that somehow Smith and Neo both come to "understand" their powers which in turn makes each much more powerful. When they first punch one another this time, they both are thrown back. That has never happened before, maybe they will now become one yet again like in the first Matrix when Neo entered Smith. As I can't see any other way to destroy Smith anymore since he has infected the entire matrix system with copies of himself, just like a virus.

i was thinking that maybe that was a glitch in the matrix as it was trying to "reload." your explaination sounds pretty good, too. i guess we'll find out in november.

If you search to dedicated for the "matrix" movies forums, you gonna find answers to many questions. Even spoilers for how it goes...

The problem with Reload is that it is not a standalone movie like the original one. It is the part one of a two-movie series (if someone can tell this).
So, you can't judge it as a "standalone" movie. When you see the next one, you have to think it as one huge 5 hour movie (or miniseries...) and then judge it as a whole.

It is the same problem you have with TV series from JMS (Babylon 5, Jeremiah). You can't judge the series from a standalone episode. When you watch the whole story, then you end up saying "amazing...."

    Spoilers:

Matrix in Matrix, Matrix reboot, the 7th Neo, Half man half program...

    SPOILER!!!

I don't think that's the case. I am pretty sure that NEO has these new powers because he has only just truly freed his mind. That is the big revelation that we are going to see in the third installment. They NEVER left the Matrix, not even at any time during the first movie. Their real world, including Zion, is just an element of control used by the machines.

The Architect said that ~1% of the population rejects the Matrix, and that this would be an acceptable margin for error, except that these people start walking on walls, flying, etc... and this causes the others to disbelieve. So they need a way of sorting out the believers from the non-believers. So they created a simulated "real world" and a simulated haven for these people, Zion. They wait a while, let all these rejects go there, basically let them sort themselves out. Once they've gotten too strong, they wipe them out and then repeat the whole process over and over again. Meanwhile they have the Oracle working hands on with these rejects trying to find out the anomaly so that they can eliminate the bug in the system. They are trying to modify the Matrix so as to rid humans of just enough humanity so that they will all accept the system. Once the system is perfected, the next time Neo enters that room he will make a different choice and decide to keep the Matrix rather than allow it to be destroyed.

The process has been the same for the previous 5 times, but this time Smithy decided not to follow the rules. His coming back changed something in the Matrix. Somehow Neo realized that they were still in the Matrix and that's why he can now do the things he could do when he knew he was in the Matrix. This is why he goes into the coma in the end. Its like the first time he was "freed." Its too much to handle so he goes into shock.

I think the 3rd Matrix will start with Neo walking around in the REAL world, which will probably be totally different from what we thought the real world was in the first and 2nd movies.

I may be off base with some of these assumptions, but I am fairly positive about the Matrix within a Matrix theory. In any case, I didn't really like Reloaded that much until I figured this out. Now I find it all really intriguing and can appreciate the movie. I think its going to be the same way for many other people who don't like this movie, except that they might not appreciate it until after they see, or hear about, the 3rd one. Perhaps that is one reason that they are releasing them so close together, you almost can't have one without the other.

  28. Get this everyone!:

Today The Matrix Reloaded is being released in UK cinemas. I figured i may as well try and get some tickets, living in Birmingham (2nd biggest city in england) you would think "not a chance for at least a week") i went to the odeon web site as there is an odeon near me in the city centre which is reasonably small and quiet. I thought i would try to book tickets online so i got half way through registering etc when i realised they were going to charge me a 50p handling fee for my ticket (i was gonna get 3).

Being a student i am the stingiest guy u will ever meet so decided to walk the 20 mins in the rain so save myself a whopping £1.50. I also had this free ticket thing from a packet of Doritos which entitles you to 1 free ticket if you guess a random question. I figured i may as well bring it and mull over the puzzle on the way. When i arrived i bought 3 tickets to an 8.05 showing of the matrix reloaded,i had no idea the answer to this puzzle but fortunatly there was a hot woman in the booth and with a grin she told me the answer!!! OH YEAH!!!! SCORE!!!!

so, in summary, i got 1 ticket for free (and i didn;t even buy the doritos, nor did i guess the secret answer!) and i got another 2 tickets for my mates at student prices totalling £5-00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, the blagging is not over yet! On several accasions i have brought a large coat to this cinema, holding it over my arm. underneath my arm is a big Sainsburies bag, full of coke, popcoarn (Sainsburies own brand is SO nice!) and sweets for a fraction of the price Odeon would charge, and i jus walk right through saying "cheers man" to the bouncer guy who checks my ticket! Also, if you go to Sainsburies just before it closes they have all the coockies etc for insanely cheap prices (10p instead of £1) because they go off that day, so they go under the coat aswell!

Is that impressive work or what!?!!?!?!?
1)Why Not Overclock a little?! speed 4 free!!!!
    2) If your question has anything to do with copying PS2/PC/XBox games, find a more appropriate website

I notice that everyone is on this matrix within a matrix theroy. This was my first thought as well after i saw it. But now i am wondering if this is really the case. I mean it seems kinna obvious and i wonder if this will not be the case at all and they will throw us a curve ball and twist the story in another way. Just a thought....
