    If i have a half sized film the 352x240 and i convert it to dvd and burn it leaving it in the half sized mode (not 700x500 etc) will it show full screen on my tv or a box on the screen as it would if i were to play an avi on my computer

    Your help is greatly apreciated

  3. Since you have gotten a answer I will jump in.

    The general answer is it will be full screen.
    Some of guides on the left do cover this. For example you can use movie factory to easily convert your VCD onto a DVD.

    You will not gain the quality of a DVD but will keep the VCD level.
    People do this to get more time on a DVD when quality is not number one OR they do not have the original higher res source. Sounds like you are in last group.

  4. exactly what sort of length of video could you get on one dvd? say at CVd res and 192khz sound?? 4 hours plus?

    It depends of the bitrate you use, not the framesize of the mpeg.

    Generall speaking, without filters, you need about 1500 average for 352 X 288/240, 3500 - 4000kb/s average for 352 X 576/480 and for 720 x 576/480 about 8000 average.

    With filters, those values goes really lower....
