Okay,
This is what's going on. I have 2 avi (divx) files that had some bad frames. I ran them both through Divx Repair and it corrected the frames. Prior to fixing the frames when I made and Mpeg2 file from the avi's they would always go out of synch around just after the hour mark. After correcting the frames that seems to fix the problem. So I ran the fixed avi's thru MainConcept Mpeg Encoder. Now when I play the newly created Mpegs they is no more synch problem but with one Mpeg file the picture freezes while the audio goes on at the 1:35 mark and the other does the same at the 1:41 mark. Is this merely a coincidence or can it be a settings issue. If anyone out there experienced the same problem can you please recommend a fix? Or for that matter anyone knowledgable about this can chime in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

try using tmpgenc....you can use the svcd feature for 30 days and if u get an old version (try beta 12i) you can always set your system clock back to get another 30 days. it is very easy and extremely effective. also, try extracting the audio from the avi file with VirtualDub and in tmpgenc set the video source to your avi and the audio source to the wav you extracted with virtualdub. if all else fails, try re encoding the avi files with divx using the fast recompress option in virtualdub, then encode with your mpeg encoder.
