I would like to capture DV in one long 1hour AVI, but it creates a new clip every 9 minutes 20 seconds. I have scene detection turned off, but what gives?
Also, I would like to take my one big edited avi and put it onto a removeable HD which I can then take to another computer, how can I do that?

imovie does this to keep the files under 2Gb, all you have to do is select all the clips and export them to quicktime, giving you the full length video.

first, won't thant make them a .mov? I would like them to remain AVIs. Also, when I hit the export button, it only gives me the option to export to a device. am I missing something?

Combine the clips with Quicktime Pro, then export from QTPro to AVI or what ever you want.
