ok.. I post this in the DVD rip area... but no one seems to know there...
PROBLEM : I got a 16X DVDrom... but only can rip under 2X...(and alot others have the same prob too).
Can Anyone help... THE DMA is ON...
my old machine was a DVD 4x and it rip faster...

Hmm... Are you using an VIA Chipset on your motherboard. IF so, U need to download VIA 4-in-1 1.33 drivers, then check enable DMA at the prompt, reboot. Also, enable Synch data transfer, should fix your problems

Which DVD drive do you use. I saw the same problem, a few days ago, and it was the 'famous' VIA chip. And as Chris said, download new drivers, that should help. And mather what you do, with your DVD, it should be master allways.

our kid reckons his toshiba 16x dvd rom is locked at a very low ripping speed ...maybe thats the same problem...look into it m8 -
Two things where would I find these updates or do I have to upadte the bios and second how do you know what speed your drive is ripping at??
