    thanks a lot, p_l...

now, my apologies to the dialup crew...

Mine's usually a bit spartan, all my oft-used progs are usually right at the head of the start menu, or on an easily followed path within.. like so.
I had, just up til seeing this thread, a load of picture files on there which had been accidentally downloaded to the wrong place

Used to have tons of desktop icons, and still find them to be of some use on the home machine, but they eat up precious GDI resources and just get in the way and cause problems and blah. Never needed em in win3.1, never needed em on the ST, dont need em now!

And yeah, there's a crappy prize for guessing that background pic. (Yes, it *is* supposed to be 512x384, 256 colour. VRAM saving again).

Have a hard choice deciding what wallpaper to choose usually. Need one of those random pickers.... would anyone like some of these sent?
(if you can name the source of 50% of them, you're pretty good btw)

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!

um ok i spelt that all right and was sure to upload them, so wtf?

lets try some squelchy, horridly over compressed jpgs instead of nice gifs.
    original size 1024x768 for both.

(hmm... just noticed that there no antivirus/firewall on that system tray, even though its still picking up and alerting me to Nimdas that are floating through the network shares... stupid thing must have broken down again. reinstall time!)

Sorry, I hope you weren't too freaked out. It's harmless, of course. Annoying, but harmless...

What exactly does that link have to do with desktop images?

Thankfull DOS text doesn't look like that... or have sounds. I could really scare my mom with it perhaps though.

  14. Ahem, do you think you could post one with the 'moviestacker' icon out of the way?, there's a pointed wave on the horizon I'm interested in for artistic purposes, of course...

  15. oh snap!! I just realized that you have jane's f-a18 and f-15!! A man after my own heart . I bombed Iraqis and Iranians till the roosters crowed on f-15, never had much time to get into f/a-18, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that the day will come when I have free time. Still two of the best flight sims ever, well considering nobody really makes these heavy sims anymore.. I still keep one of my hard drives running 98 just so I can play these games...

if I move the icon you still can't get a good view of that wave because there's a pesky nipple in the way

F18 runs great with XP. I like f18 much better than f15 and it's nice that there's so many people creating mods for this sim.

Hey, that's Jade Hsu, isn't it?

Anyway, sorry about the earlier nonsense
(although I'll bet there are some people sharing it with their "friends" as we speak).

    This is much better.

hmm haven't played around with f-18 in a while. Nice to know that there are mods still being made. F-15 is still the apple of my eye though, I love that mudhen, even have a vodoo card lying around just to play the game, although I just haven't played f-18 enough. Haven't had time to play falcon or the flanker series, although I would love too. Time is my enemy..

I don't have real pictures on the desktops of each computer I own.

One is black, just like someone above. The other computer with just a plain blue wallpaper color, the gateway computer with an image of the planet Mars. The server computer got an image so dark looking at the sun behind the moon. An awesome eclipse of the sun.

Just about half of the desktop views is taken up of shortcut icons to links everywhere in my network and the Internet. They do build up and I have to delete or transfer some of these every now and then.

I don't need to wear sunglasses as so dark and cold here.

Yeah I've updated since then. My desktop now looks almost exactly like the main monitor at work.
