  1. Can anyone advise whether 42 (1.5.2) will work on a Disk Copy Image of a DVD on a HD?

It will work. Mount the dvd image, drag the mounted dvd to forty_two and let it go.

It may give you errors (no .ac3 file format found...) or someother errors, which depends on the encoding of the dvd.

    its worth a try!

  4. It does work and that is the way do it, cause ripping it with osex or dvdextrator in os9 is way faster then letting 42 rip it off the DVD.

This definately does work...I've done it many times.

However, I still get the no 2nd disk problem about 80% of the time...Has anyone figured a way of making sure 42 does what it should, short of manually splitting the generated mpeg?

select only the first 1/2 or 1/3 of the chapters. you will have to do some calculating to figure out which ones to choose but esentailly if you calulate the bitrate with ffmpegx for a 2 disk svcd and use that select first half, run 42
then select 2nd half and run it again

renaming the first and putting it in a different location

the next update will address this issue (supposedly)

other option is to trash the .bin all together and select the .mpeg file that temp and split it and image it.
