    any suggestions for good transcoders?
I played with ReMPEG2 1.52 but Im disappointed with it, and often captured stuff is just slightly too big to put on single dvd-r, thus rather transcoder instead of 'full' reencoding job would be more of help in such case...

    TIA

I prefer DVD2AVI. It will frameseve to anything, or convert back to avi, inverse telecine your material, and it's fast. It also removes the need for an MPEG-2 codec if that's an issue. Best of all, it's free.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
