  1. Maybe I was dreaming but I thought for sure I saw someone mention on this forum that there was a group doing (and making available) captures of current TV shows (actually I think it was only "Enterprise" that was mentioned).

I have no trouble capturing and burning onto DVDs my favorite shows, but it's time consuming and, more importantly, my TV reception is really lousy (and yes, I have sat, but in my area they do *not* offer local channels -- it's supposedly coming sometime by the end of the year, but I'll believe it when I see it. I have to settle for cable TV for my local channels, and the cable was laid sometime during the Nixon era).

If someone has already captured my favorite show and I can download it somewhere for my own use, I would love to know about it. It doesn't seem to me this would be a violation of any copyright -- if it is then the mods here are free to remove this post and I will take no offense. I mean, I'll watch the show locally anyway, but I just want to preserve it the best I can for the future.

If anyone has any information about this I'd appreciate it -- or at the very least you can tell me it was all a dream (at my age it's sometimes hard to tell the difference: kind of like Abe Simpson).

  2. This is of course a violation of copyright.

You can use your VCR (or some other video recording format) to "timeshift" the viewing of the broadcast material. Distributing it to others in the fashion you describe, whether or not it is for profit is most definitely a breach of copyright.

  3. Yes, Don't download and Kazzaa lite and then use it to find those episodes. That would be wrong.

They were shut down and rightly so.

    Mods, please close this post.
Advice was given out, even though its the kind.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
