Just wrote my first disc using the walkthough here called "DVD9 to DVD5 with DVD2ONE " it wrote fine and plays great on my JVC dvd player, but when I try to play it on my computer through my SONY DRU-500ax, it has no sound. The Power DVD 'show info' screen says no audio info available.

    any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Troy

  3. Did you check the audio stream you wanted to keep when you setup DVD2one (like DTS, Dolby 5.1, etc)?

Have you played a commercial DVD in the drive? As in, are you sure the wiring and software are set correctly?
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Which burning program did you use? Not trying to solve the problem, I just want to know for my own reasons. Thanks.

I used this walkthrough just like it says.

Yes, I did play back a commercial DVD and the sound played just fine. So I don't think it's the wiring or hardware. (CD audio plays fine too)

I do remember checking which audio I wanted too. The audio on the player is in DTS..maybe that's why it won't play on the sony??? I'm not sure it plays in DTS or not.

  7. Just a thought - there is an internal cable connecting the cd/dvd drive to the soundcard inside the computer. If you installed the dvd-rw drive after the original drive, and didn't move the internal audio cable then I think that may explain why you get no sound.

If you have another drive (and its a DVD-ROM) try the disk in that. If the other drive is a CD drive, and you want to play DVDs on your PC, you may have to move the internal audio cable from your original drive to your Sony.

    Don't have a DVD-RW drive myself so I'm just guessing !

DVD2ONE does not correct the ifo file in full mode. Unless you included stream 00 in the compression you will hear no audio, use the button on the remote to cycle thru your audio streams.
I contacted the author about this "problem" but he says he knows and it's intentional.

So this would cause it to play on a regular home DVD player and not the ROM drive?

  11. Did you choose only DTS for sound without AC3? I believe DVD format require you include at least one AC3. Also maybe your power dvd player doesn't have DTS package. The power dvd included in DVD-Rom drive generally doesn't have DTS package. When you start power dvd did you see the DTS logo? if not your power dvd player doesn't have DTS package.
