  1. I tried to convert a avi file to mpg using VirtualDub and TMPGenc but it can't convert it.It gives an error.

    Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MP42' (Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4 V2)
    VirtualDub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video,DirectShow codecs,such as those used by Windows Media player,are not suitable.

    Do i need a new codec?If so, may i know what codec do i need and where could i get it?

  2. i too have this problem with planet of apes, was encoded with mpeg4 version 3, which isn't available anymore? am trying to see if i can get a codec or workaround to this.
