  1. I would like to know if there is a simple one-touch system available for my wife to use which would be connected to a PC. She would like to convert several of our family tapes to DVDs but she doesn't want to launch program A then go to B and then C. With my travel schedule, she doesnt want to rely on me (techo-geek husband) to do this for her.

    Thanks,
    Brian

  2. Try WinDVD Recorder from Intervideo.

    www.intervideo.com

That software is very good, but don't expect so good quality as standalone encoder like TMPGEnc.

  3. It's not exactly what you're asking, but a standalone DVD recorder would do the trick nicely. Sure, it has its limitations and it's expensive, but it is a "simple one-touch system available for my wife to use" and it's as easy to learn/use as a VCR.
