Thanks to the help of several users on this forum, I've got my system actually capturing properly, but it still doesn't agree with Virtualdub

Anyway, I captured from a fairly new VHS tape, quality is good, definitely acceptable, but are there any filters I should run over all my captured video? Just to generally clean up the image, I don't have any specific problems with it.

Preferrably for Virtualdub, and if the filter isn't included with vdub, a place to download it from, thanks.

  2. Well this is what I do.

Run 'Smart De-Interlacer' by Ronald Graft I think, to get rid of Interlacing believe it or not.

Run 'Temporal Smoother' to clean up all that nasty noise, usually set around the middle range.

Oh don't forget to crop off the bad tracking at the top, bottom and sides with the first filter you use, and finally do a resize to take the video back to it's original dimensions.
