  1. I tried burning a vcd through adaptec but the mpeg files get recorded in the segment directory and nothing gets recorded into the mpegav directory
the cd also wont play in a vcd player.

The files get recorded as item***.dat files in the segment directory.

I have adaptec platinum version 5.02.

How can i solve the problem.

Whether they actually are or not, Ez cd creator thinks your mpgs are non-compliant. If you look at its compliance properties some boxes will be in red if they arent compliant. Try demuxing and remuxing in TMPGenc with mpeg1 vcd set to output. (File/Mpeg tools/Simple demultiplex and Simple Multiplex.) This should produce a compliant mpeg assuming it was encoded correctly. This will probably burn ok in ez cd creator but honestly that burning program is terrible, I would use any other software you can find.

get NERO, it makes making XVCDs much more fun. No compliance needed with NERO.
