  1. Ran AVI file through TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG1 file, following guide on this site, then ran mpeg1 through nero to burn it to VCD, again following guide of this site. When tried to play on DVD player, incidently does play VCD's, I only got sound & no picture. What have I done wrong??

    But does it play CD-Rs, which is what a home-made VCD is.

  3. Yes it does play CD-R's, tried & tested.

    I'd suggest skipping Nero. Encode with TMPGenc using one of the VCD wizards (which depends on your TV system and/or video source frame rate).
    Then author as VCD with VCDEasy, and create a cue/bin.
    Finally let VCDEasy burn this to CD, or use Nero to burn the cue/bin if VCDEasy cant use your burner.

  5. Coudl also be your burn speed or media, try mixing them up a bit 8)
