  1. I have been making (x)(s)vcds for a long time and I am now using the new dvd 9-5 to back up dvds. I obviously want to have the best compatibility.

I understand that some people think Nero is bad for burning dvds. Why would this be true? Also, what is considered to be the best dvd-r burning program out there?

  2. Nero is very good software recorder for DVD.. just use the last version (5.5.10.20 or more)

They had problem, but they fixed it very fast..

  3. I used to use nero, but i now favour record now max by stomp. Very good recording program. Nero has now gone out the window

Plus it is so simple to burn a dvd, click data, add files, highlite both folders, press ok and press record. Easy.

As far as DVD to DVD-R copying goes, Pinnacle Instant Copy is the most compatible in the tests that I have done. I'm not saying its the fastest or best best quality, just the most compatible in my independent tests. I used Ritek G03 1x media and burned at 2x using a Gradius firmware upgrade. The IC7 discs played in multiple DVD players, both set-top and computer including x-Box and PlayStation2.

    IC7 for compatability
    DVD2One for speed
    DVD95Copy for customization
    DVD2DVDR for Quality (CCE)
    DVDShrink for cost (free)
DVDXCopy for all in one app quality (2 discs and stupid intro)

Nero still has issues, even with the new ones.

I use DVDit! - it's given 100% compatilibility on even the most stubborn Sony players that exist.

RecordNow Max is okay, but not perfect either. Better than Nero.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

RNM is EXCELLENT...not "okay" and it really is fun to read a post where you continue to spew B.S that is all opinionated and FAR from fact, especially about DVD media. RNM is "okay" lol...your a real joker.

  7. Recordnow max for me also as i had problems with nero latest version..

  8. I use RecordNow Max and sometimes the burner in NeoDVD as well as DVDX Xpress.

  9. Thanx for the replies, i think i am going to find DVDit.

You know defense, you are kind of a j@ck@ss... Just because a person doesn't think the software you use is not the best, you have to go and attack them. It's great that you have an opinion and obviously use what works for you, but that doesn't mean that everybody on this site should agree with you and use what you use... give it a rest and quit being such an opinionated j@ck@ss!!!

Were you made fun of as a kid and now you are trying to get even???
    Use what works for you...

I used Sonic Scenarist (bought it off ebay)
and It is very compatible with my Dvd players but this thing is expensive...
    Also, you need Windows NT.

  12. RecordNow Max works best for me. Nothing but joy!

  13. copytodvd works for me
you can download a trial version that gives you all the features
    nuff respect

  14. @tjtoed, I don't "attack" anyone dipstick. If I respond to a post with my "facts" on a product and someone doesn't like it, then it can turn into a flame war.

If you read damn near EVERY one of my posts, you'll see that the only time I said anything to a specific person, was when they said something to me first. My responses may sound harsh, but it's almost always justified and the person who makes their comments are almost always in Fanstasy Land and aren't wanting to hear the truth about the product they love.

As far as txpharoah goes, they are an entirely different story and post "opinions" as facts, and repeat themself on every post. It's one thing to have "facts" and say this is this and that is that. But it's an entirely different story when you have cdr's go bad, and everyone in the world is gonna have their terrible "cheap" media just dissolve into thin air because of their experience.

Anyway, enough said about that...this is just another post which has been answered countless times by countless people. A little research would of answered the posters question in seconds.

Were you made fun of as a kid and now you are trying to get even???

That's cool defense. A lot of your posts just come off harsh-sounding and I really just wanted to express that... I usually agree with you, I just prefer to go about expressing my "opinions" a little differently than you do.

    No hard feelings?

So tell me defense, what's a good looking athlete like you doing spending so much time answering posts on this site (1063+)? The prom queen dump you for the chess team captain?
    Use what works for you...

  16. @tjtoed...no hard feelings at all.....I understand what you were saying.....I don't really think about how my posts sound, but being that i've been told they seem harsh at times...maybe I should just try to keep my responses down to a couple of words or so. I don't usually think out a response..I just read and then reply with my feelings on a particular post. Anyway, it's all good.

LOL...Pretty creative....maybe you should of said "Physics team captain" or something....we didn't have a Chess team at my school.

As far as my total posts go...I am not sure what that amounts to on average per day, although it's over 1,000, I don't think I post more then a few times daily on average. Also, as far as my entire computer time goes. It's allocated in two ways. One, my email..and two, this site.

I know anyone can say anything on the net....and this isn't about a person's biography...but by saying I was an athlete in Highschool was an understatement. It would be very simple to prove, but that isn't my style and this forum isn't for each poster's biography.

    1. I'm not bothered by the remarks of children.
    2. "Facts" cannot exist in a post where "best" is the question.
    3. RecordNow Max has problems too. The end.

    1) Glad to hear you aren't bothered by your own comments.
    2) None of your posts contain facts. You may provide "some" correct legal info here and there, but the rest of your "DVD" related posts are ALL complete and utter B.S. You have knocked all types of inexpensive media and you are so full of diarrhea, you just now found out Apple doesn't even make their own disks....lol Not to mention your signature says you "GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" so stop buying "CHEAP JUNK." Optodisk are cheap..so which one is it Jabba?
    3) Again, your comments are ridiculous. All software has some type of issue, and to say RNM has "problems" is INCORRECT. If i'm wrong, then show your right and explain.

    1. Don't believe my professional facts or opinions? That's great, I don't post here for you. I do it for all the adults trying to learn a bit about video. It's not easy. Feel free to live in your own world of misinformation and Star Wars jokes. I really don't care. Leave me out of it. Your comments only reveal who you really are.

    2. Cheap and low-cost have different meanings. Optodiscs are low cost, and work great. Ritek are cheap. Even Princo are cheap, but out of all the cheapos, Princo is my disc of choice.

    3. Want proof that RecordNow is not perfect? Try their forums and read for yourself rather than spouting: http://supportforum.stompinc.com/index.php it's full of complaints and problems in need of help. This forum has many too, and I've experienced some myself. It's good, not perfect. If it was perfect, we'd all use it.

    4. Ever get that PHP spell-check component made? You seemed so concerned about spelling.

LMAO...you do it for the adults. That's wonderful and i'm sure all of the ADULTS as well as the mods are just enthralled at all of the priceless information you have supplied since your arrival.
Cheap and low-cost have different meanings. Optodiscs are low cost, and work great. Ritek are cheap. Even Princo are cheap, but out of all the cheapos, Princo is my disc of choice.
I actually can't believe a genius like you would contradict yourself as heavily as you have done here. You say that cheap and low cost have different meanings, but your signature says and I quote "DOLLARS DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE."

Now you are saying that those crappy "PRINCOS" are you choice of "CHEAP" DISKS.....you just got through posting that "OPTODISK" were your choice of CHEAP disks?...WHICH ONE IS IT "SYBIL?" OR BETTER YET...how the hell do DOLLARS make the difference ON EVERY POST...and you preach PIONEER AND APPLE and EVERYONE else's disks are just gonna VANISH into thin air...and now you have the gall to say that PRINCO is your "cheap" disk of choice...LMAO.....cooo cooo for cocoa puffs!

As for RNM, are you still trying to confuse yourself Pharoah? All you did was post RNM's tech support link.....almost all software has online tech support and forums. I asked "you" to tell me what the "problems" were with RNM, since you said it has these "problems." All proggy's have some type of issues, the question is whether or not the issues are significant. RNM has a couple of issues i'm aware of, but those issues don't affect the burn process in the slightest manner.

And lastly, as far as spell checking goes, don't flatter yourself. I don't look for "your" posts and could care less about your illiteracy. The only reason I even mentioned your 2nd grade spelling errors is because your the self-proclaimed world's greatest paralegal. And paralegals like you aren't supposed to make those 3 letter word errors. Fortunately, when 2nd grade spelling errors with 3 letter words stick out like a sore thumb..I don't need that PHP Spell Checker.

  21. I use CopyToDVD also. Burnt 3 disks and all work on my CyberHome and my PC.
    Thx in Advance!!

The new Nero 5.5.10.20 seems pretty good. It's passing my tests.

    Defense, I am with you.

Not to jump on a bandwagon but when a guy incessantly prefaces his replies with as a "professional...etc tec ad nauseum" it gets on my nerves because he does not even understand the meaning of the word.

I am a professional videographer. why ? Because I get paid for those services as opposed to an amateur who does not.

There are many great minds, facts, opinions, etc on this board but as I say, I get irked when some have to SHOVE their thoughts out as if every fart they have is a new scientific fact. Ugg.

On Topic - NERO without a doubt. For several reasons.
    1) The most diverse functionality. CD/DVD/ and every type there is. Plus the ability to utilize various book setting.

    2) The most under the covers. From an software engineering standpoint, nero is quite a tool. Just because they were behind a while back in user firendly interface did not make them a bad product. They were more techno-geek oriented and thats all.

    3) Great upgrade history in that they have never made you pay past the first time.

    Cons
    1) Terrible customer support and site for support. It is more like a "view my schematic" than a user help and replys to help are measured in annual response.

I use Maestro's Premaster tools, and Primo DVD.

Primo comes bundled with Primera Bravo systems, so it must do something right.

Primo uses the same recording engine by Veritas as Stomp's Record Now.

  26. @ arcorob, you didn't know that pharoah is a professional at everything from the legal field to quality control specialist at every manufacturing plant in the World? Hard to believe such a "pro" who has so much versatility, seems to be constantly confused and report inaccuracies regularly.

Not to mention the fact that they have contradicted themselves numerous times, especially with types of media. By the way, they have tried every type of media from Earth to Mars, and if you don't use the type of media they say you should, then your data will vaporize!

I am a professional videographer. why ? Because I get paid for those services as opposed to an amateur who does not.
Even though Pharoah doesn't get paid for those services, she still knows much more then you. You're just a "rook" trying to come up in the world.....any topic you mention, she'll have an answer and SHOW YOU that you are just a rookie!

She really should sign up for the Binion or somethin' because she's the world's greatest poker player...because she's always bluffing and so FULL OF SHIT!

I use RecordNow Max 4.5 here and couldn't be happier. Great burning software for DVDs and is completely compatible on all of my standalone players.

  28. I use ImgTool to create and burn my DVD's. I used to use Nero but they would play on everything BUT my Xbox, using ISO with ImgTool lets me play them on my Xbox now.

  29. I started this post to answer a question that i had about dvd burning software programs not all being the same.

I did NOT create this post to be the stage for your childish arguments. I am sure that a moderator would agree with me when I say "Stay on topic!"

PS Why dont you get it all over with and whip out your dicks and measure em for gods sake

This is a forum for us geeks, not bullies
Everyone's opinion is vallid. None should be ridiculed

  30. I prefer Nero 5.5.9.14 (an older version). Just use Nero Express for making a perfect copy. Or use DVD Decrypter in ISO-mode.
