  2. Hey!!! I have the EXACT same problem. I been trying to burn a vcd that will play in my dvd player now for the past 3 days!!! I've been trying to use the nero demo 5.5 but always get "Invalid Field in Parameter"!!! After doing some research i came to find out that Adaptec Easy CD (which was preinstalled on my cpu) can't be installed for nero to work. I uninstalled adaptec, located and deleted the adaptec drivers that were left over after the deinstallation, rebooted, installed nero 5.5 and still the same message "Invalid Field in Parameter"... HOW FRUSTRATING!!!! I heard of some utility to switch between adaptec and nero, but i also heard it doesn't work on Windows ME, which is my OS.
I emailed nero about the problem two days ago and have not recieved a response as of yet.
SO, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME AND MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    THX in advance.....

sounds more like an incompatibility between the burning software and the burner, meaning the burner is not supported by the burning software.

p.s. check with nero to make sure your burner is supported or whether your burner requires a firmware upgrade.

there is supposed to be bootmenus to fix this problem and let you choose between the two...they are available for download at the Nero site, but THE LINKS DO NOT WORK! If anyone knows where to get these could you please enlighten us...also if it doesn't work on ME, I'm screwed, cuz i need both adaptec and nero........

  8. OK!!!!! I got it fixed!!!! After waiting for a few days for a response from nero i got this response : "I am sending the file "mmc.dll" as an attachment. When you receive it,
place the file in the "C:\program files\ahead\nero" folder. Restart your pc
and duplicate your problem. Let me know what happens. "
Well i did it and Nero now works flawlessly.
His name was Alfred Valerio and his email is avalerio@nero.com. SO for those who have been experiencing this problem, email him and ask for that file. GOOD LUCK!!!
