  1. I was wondering what kinds of programs people used to make motion menus. The specific type of motion menu I am talking about is button menus.

I used Adobe After Effects, imported clips, resized them and rendered them. To make things even more complicated, when a certain button is highlighted, that is the only menu that is animated. So if I had two options on a page, then I would need two separate menus.

    Let me know!

  3. try dvd workshop....for me, it works like a charm....motion menu, first play, fully customizable menu....however, the learning curve is quite steep...as it's the most professional dvd authoring program that i used so far, even though it looks a bit unprofessional

but, i should say try the dvd workshop....it could be the one you r looking for.

    smile and have fun....

  6. You can try DVDWS but I don't think you can do what you want. It does motion menus and buttons, but what your describing about having selected things go animated and unselected not 'tll they are selected, no that it won't do. To do that you need a pro app like Maestro, or Scenarist, but both are buku bucks and Maestro hard to find since the company whent out of buisness. I have seen it on Ebay for about 1/2 of the cost of Scenarist but its so high still it really doesn't matter. On the chance you have one of those Maestro does do it, but you will need to wright an "If, x=such, then do Y" All the info is in the manual but it is very tough to get ast least at first. I've read the chapter on that like a million times and still am like wha, huh, uhhhhhh.

  7. Very interesting. Thats for your response. I actually did it in Maestro. Just wanted to see if there was an easier way or more important a shorter way!

I have done it pretty easily, but it is a bit time consuming. I think that it is best to draw it out on paper, compile short clips, import into After Effects and then link it in Maestro.

If people are interested I can write a tutorial! Port here or PM me and I will work on it. But if noone is interested then I will not even bother.

For what your doing Maestro is the easiest.

Import m2v(s), draw boxes and link. Pretty simple.

DVD Lab is another option, as is Reel DVD, Reel DVD is pretty limited, but does support the multi layered input from A.E. and Photoshop.

And by all means, do the guide. Many people will benefit from it, and you may just cause me to blow the dust off my After Effects production bundle cd

PS What format do most people want guides in? I was thinking a word document with screen shot and such and then serve it off on my computer.

Do people talk on IRC channels? If not one should be started. If needed I will moderate.
