Problems backing up a dvdr to dvdr

Everytime I do a disc to disc on the fly with Nero, I get a compliance read error.

But I have noticed that when it is a disc that I have processed using one of the many dvd9 to dvd5 tools the disc will generally work when the error is ignored.

When the vob files have been processed from downloaded avi / mpeg files and burned to dvdr the disc will not work.

I have also tried ripping these discs and again when I try to burn with Nero the files fail the compliance test. If I ignore the warning and proceed the disc will not play properly on my stand-a-lone or pc. I have also tried Record Now with the same files and again the disc will not play properly.

Any suggestions ?

have you tried doing a iso read with decrypter then burn back with iso write ?

Yes, Tried that it also fails to play.
