I think the SVCD format is not well supported by DVD manufacturers.
I made an SVCD at 2.5MB/sec CBR and played it back in 3 different DVD players with varying results:
GPX DV2000: first half second of audio of every track was cut out...was in sync but started late. Seems like it played every frame of every track.
Koss DVP2163: beginning played OK but last 1-2 seconds got cut off before it switched to the next track.
GE 100: last 1 second or so would get cut off before it switched to the next track.
My Win98 PC: played fine beginning to end. Seems like it played every frame of every track, no problems.
I was hoping the SVCD format would approach DVD quality (it's good enough for me) but I'm disappointed by DVD players cutting them off. I could understand the GPX because it's an older unit. Oh well.
Anyone else have this experience?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
