I think the SVCD format is not well supported by DVD manufacturers.
I made an SVCD at 2.5MB/sec CBR and played it back in 3 different DVD players with varying results:
GPX DV2000: first half second of audio of every track was cut out...was in sync but started late. Seems like it played every frame of every track.
Koss DVP2163: beginning played OK but last 1-2 seconds got cut off before it switched to the next track.
GE 100: last 1 second or so would get cut off before it switched to the next track.
My Win98 PC: played fine beginning to end. Seems like it played every frame of every track, no problems.
I was hoping the SVCD format would approach DVD quality (it's good enough for me) but I'm disappointed by DVD players cutting them off. I could understand the GPX because it's an older unit. Oh well.
Anyone else have this experience?
