  1. I'm in the process of converting several xVCD/xSVCDs to DVDR (takes up less space and I can make menus). I've been using VCDGear to rip the dat files back to MPEG1, de-mux with TMPGenc, then author with Maestro.

But I have to tell TMPGenc to de-mux each file one at a time. Does anyone know any programs that allow batch (de)muxing? Would make life a lot easier.

I use a set of programs called "bbtools". It's a free package of command-line tools that includes a demuxer. It's not hard to write a couple simple .bat scripts to run through all the .mpg files in a directory and extract the stream(s) you want.

I don't remember where I got bbtools, but you should be able to do a search and find it easily enough.

  4. I use the mpeg toolkit (http://mpgtx.sourceforge.net) for all my demuxing.
