My rip time is set at 2X. Is there a hack or switch to make this happen faster? It takes 45 minutes to rip 7.5GB disc!

Yes, you can "unlock" the drive so that it will rip faster. I can usually get between 6 and 7x on dual layered DVD's. You need to go to the firmware page and get the latest hacked firmware, and that will allow your drive to rip faster. The firmware isn't guaranteed not to screw up your drive, but I did it and haven't had any problems since then.

Screwed up my 103 drive. Many others too. Check out those DVD-R hack forums at firmware-flash.com.
Taking chances doing this. In the end, it'd be safer to add a good 16x DVD-ROM for $25 (sale all the time these days).I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
