Captured a 2hour 2 minute DV clip (from video player via camcorder & i-link). 28gb in total, plays fine on PC.
Tried to convert it to MPEG2 using TMPGENC 2.58. Used instructions as per guide, change the CBR to 3500 so that it would fit on disk and waited 8 hours.
When I came to look at the MPEG2 version, the audio is perfect but the video only shows 1 frame out of each 25, so it jumps like and is unwatchable.
Played with the settings a few times and waited 8 hours per re-try. Same each time.

Gave up after 5 attempts and used Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2, this worked perfect 1st time.
I however prefer TMPGENC as a tool, so I would be grateful if anyone could offer any help.
Thanx
Simon

First things first. Use the Source Range option to preview your work. Select only a small part of your source (like a 2 minute clip), and preview the output to ensure your settings are correct. Using TMPgenc, this is almost a requirement, or your asking for frustration.
That said, without knowing what settings you used in TMPGenc, we all be guessing as to what you did wrong. What format are you converting to? Also, did you utilize the built in Templates using the Wizard?Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
