Problem w/ vcd

i burnt a avi file onto a vcd using nero w/ 4x (i read somewhere that its not good to burn w/ 8x or more or sumthing...), but when i play the vcd on a dvd player dat supports vcd, it shows box-like things like every second. its not dat i cant see the video, i can see it but it jus has boxes and makes the quality bad...is dere a way to fix this?

dont use nero to encode your avi use tmpgenc or cce
