  1. Hi all. I hope that some of you may know my problem and maybe help me solve this.

I have been using tmpgenc before without any problem. But a few days ago when I was trying to encode some movies to vcd, it started to just freeze on me. I had also installed a game called The longest Journey. Since then, it started to freeze. I have tried everything that I can think of. I have tried to reinstall the codecs, deleted any softwares (including the game) that might have been causing the freezing but all have failed. So I reformatted my drive and reinstalled my windows xp pro, TWICE, but it is still freezing in the middle of encoding.

I just can't seem to find the problem. And yes, I did search the forum on the same topic but couldn't find the solution. Please help. Thanks.

Also, if you're converting from Avi's, did you scan and remove any bad frames?

  3. I figured out why my computer was freezing while encoding. The problem was the newest version of tmpgenc. I reinstalled the previous version and it's working fine now. Did anyone else have the same problem with the newest version?
