    I have only seen 700MB, but i've heard from somewhere that there is a burner that is capable of burning 800MB onto a cd-r, but i'm not sure about it.

    Ah IC 2 Noobs. :P

    Well yes 800mb Cdrs do exist, but there sold as 80 mintue CDr's.

    1 make that come's to mind is Infinti 80+, the + sign is to let you know that the CDr is capable of overburning to 90 mintues or even 99 mintues depending on what Version of the CDr you have.

    And for this to work you will need a burner that is able to work with these Disc's, the correct software as well....

    Burner = Lite-On
    Software = Nero Burning Software <-- or CDRDAO or CDRwin.

    Even the 700mB you have now is capable of burning upto 790MB of data providing that it's VCD/SVCD data.

    I'm not sure about 800Mb, but I know that 900Mb (99min) CDR exist - check out http://www.lordofthedeals.co.uk/acatalog/Index_Infiniti___9.html

    Anyway, the whole mpeg/data/mins thing is confusing to say the least, so check out Virtualis' guide here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/135642.php

  7. Are these 90min CDR's compatable with my standalone DVD player and CD writer?

  8. Yeah they are compatible.

  9. Eh sorry, compatible with DVD players and CD players.
    But if you drive was not made with overburning in mind then it can damage the drive by trying to burn so much.

    Any player will read it. But not all burners can do it.

  10. I have 2 expensive Pioneer DVD players, DV-C603 and DV-C302D that will only play 88 and a half min of a vcd. I also have a cheap GE1101p that will play all 99 min. I threw many discs away before I found out it was the player, not the discs. Just depends what kind of player you have.

  11. I buy Ritek 90/99min CD-R at www.allmediaoutlet.com they are rated at 24x but will burn at 48x.

  12. I get my 90 Min CD-rs from eBay or from www.precisioncddvd.com They are not compatible with all drives. Need to make sure your drive supports overburning and you need software that can over-burn (Nero, etc.)

    I bought a package of 99minute cds(850MB) from a Taiwanese brand called Bit video. They advertise them as being perfect for VCDs. Bought them locally for $10.00Can. They also had 890MB cds in the same local store. And a Pioneer 9.4 dual sided DVD-R! My Vsonic 9200mx DVD player can play the full 890MB Cds, so I'll try those next.
