  1. I have an avi which I want to convert to VCD

when I go thru the infor on this site it says look at the frame rate and size to determin which option to use on the converter.

Well it gives the sizes and frames rates of the 2 US ones and PAL

BUT I have the frame rate of PAL and the size of the US format.

so do I use PAL or not?
will the size difference chop off some stuff?
can I change the frame rate in something to the I get the size and frame rate of the US one?

    Thanks

Size difference is ratio, so shouldn't chop off anything. Convert it to all NTSC or all PAL. The conversion should be fine. Anything is better than the mutant you have now.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Pretty much anything. I'd try TMPGenc.

Madhombre, if you're in PAL land (difficult to tell as you haven't set your location in your profile) then keep to 25fps and change the frame size. as tx suggests, TMPGenc will do this nicely, is free, and easy to use. if you're in NTSC land you'll probably be better of converting to an NTSC frame rate, as USA equipment has poor PAL compatibility.
