  1. I've got a DVD-R that I want to copy for a friend. He says his player will only play NTSC DVDs. I have no idea if the DVD I have is NTSC or PAL. It plays just fine on my DVD player (Apex 1500 which I looked up and it will play both). He suggested some tools to use to determine if it is NTSC or PAL, however they are for PeeCees and I don't seem to find anything similar for Macs. I've tried the Mac DVD Player, VLC, and Quicktime (which won't open anything, of course).

Any suggestions and what software to use?

pop the DVDr in your mac, then start-up OSEx, click on the "Vid" button and it will tell you if it's PAL or NTSC...

    hope that helps.

sorry, I forgot to mention, if you don't have OSEx, use Macupdate to locate it..

  4. I tried using that. It bombs everytime - or rather it 'uexpectedly quits'.
If I start OSEx before putting in the DVD, it bombs as soon as the DVD mounts. If I start OSEx after the DVD has already mounted, it quits right away. I do have the latest version of it also.

I just updated to 10.2.6, so I don't know if that is the problem or what.
