  1. I'm new to this - First attempt to burn a VCD. I used TMPGEnc to make an .mpeg file from an .avi file and attempted to use VCDEasy to do the burn. Nothing else, just want to make a VCD.

I downloaded and installed the latest version, 1.1.5. Initially, it couldn't find the ASPI drivers and CDRDAO wouldn't work. I installed ADAPTEC's driver v4.7.1 and it found it and enabled CDRDAO. However, it could not find my burner.

I went ahead and ran and obtained bin and cue files but don't know how to proceed from here. I think I still need some sort of a burning program and tried to get to the Nero site but keep getting TCP errors. Also tried to download DVD MovieFactory from the ulead site and get TCP errors. I think I'm being blocked by my ISP because of the site's location.

Any way that I can get VCDEasy to recognize my burner?

If there isn't, what do I do with the cue/bin files other than delete them and forget the whole thing?

If I need a burn application, are there any U.S. sites from which I can download Nero or Ulead?

If not, where can I get a simple burn application?

    Thanks

  2. Theres plenty of ways to solve your problem im sure, but heres what i do.

I recommend using daemon-tools (sort of like a virtual cdrom drive that reads bin/cue files. and your favorite CD-2-CD copy program, I use Nero which you can get here http://www.ahead.de/en/index.html#root , or some peer2peer sharing program
Mount the cue file in Daemon-Tools, and make a CD copy. It is very easy). Get daemon tools here http://www.daemon-tools.de

Thanks for the reply. I got tired of fooling with VCEasy so I uninstalled it and tried a demo version of Ulead MovieFactory. Used it to burn the MPEG file I had made with TMPGEnc. Worked like a champ. So, I'll buy a copy of Ulead and consign VCEasy to the trash.

    Cheers
