As a Newbie a : Question please :-
I am thinking of buying a home Cinema system and the one i have in mind looks like it will only play region 2 ( UK ) DVDs. The DVD player i have now is multi-region, if i backup my region 1 DVDs to DVD-R do they retain the region code?, if as i suspect they do is there a way to remove it?

One step of the process backing up a DVD is to ripped to HD.
At that point the region code is also removed.
