  1. I'm pretty new to this. I've had good luck, 100%, with Maxell and TDK that I have bought locally. However, they are running over $4 a disk. Is there a difference between these disks and the bulk, same-name, ones on ebay?

I got some bulk, no-names, on ebay, and I'm batting 40% if I fill the disk and 80% if I don't. Either way it just isn't worth it. Why do these disks s***?

    Thanks in advance

  2. I tried the cheapest DVD-R Supermediastore had (advertised at this site)
    and am batting 100%.

The answer to your question of why? I don't know but stay away from ebay.
Some DVD burners are picky maybe?

P.S. I have a Toshiba burner, most people here are big on Sony or A05, mine works fine.

    I'd go with 1X Ritek (1.59?) or 4X Ritek (1.95)

I have burned well over 600 with only one or two coasters, which were my fault anyway.

2X TDKs are nice, but they are still in the $3 range.

  4. Where are you finding the Riteks for 1.59? Canadian, maybe? You can find them all over the place for around 1.20. I usually get mine at Rima, but I'm batting 1.000 so far with them.

Discs with no top-coating will die in time (common problem with CD, as now are many dying fromt he early days). Pay a few pennis more per disc (even a buck more per disc) and get one that has a good coating, and from a good brand.

OptoDiscs are good bulk discs. About $1-$2 each
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
