Nero crashes while making menu

I have Nero v5.5 and when I did a trial of the menu option with small mpg's it worked fine, but when I used the actual full size mpg, Nero seems to crash after the mpgs have been read in while it is trying to make a menu. ( I am making a vcd with three episodes of a tv show on it, and would like to make a menu). Has anyone else had this problem or know a good solution? I am using v 5.5.4.0 with Windows 2000 professional, 300 MHz Pentium II, 196 MB Ram

I should mention it is version 5.5.4.0

I made a menu with 15 small clips (about 5 mins each) and it kept crashing.
I think it is when Nero is trying to make a still picture from the video clip you can get problems.
I can;t remember which way I did get it to work but you can add the clips and then do the menu or the other way around.

You can also change the still image shown for each clip

Just keep persisting and it should work. make sure that no other programs are running.
