    Try using OSEx ripper.

    Agreed
Scratches or dirt/fingerprints/dust can cause backup errors

    1. try running warm water on the disk shaking any excess water off and wiping with a lint free cloth
    2. If that doesnt help, try a small amout of soap which you can rub on the disk itself with your finger, then rinsing with warm water and shaking/drying
    3. if that doesnt work, rubbing a VERY small amount of toothpaste (paste, not gel) all over the disk followed with water, shaking, drying etc. That may help.

    I would try 1 before 2 before 3.

IF that doesnt work, you can copy the dvd entirely to your HD (using the OPTION-DRAG) function which will copy the dvd itself to your HD. THen you can use dvd backup on that copied dvd. If it errors on copying then you probably have a disk that just cant be backed up.

But still try OSeX. Perhaps it can process the backup.

After #3 above I would use a DVD doctor or something else that "grinds" the disk down. Although expect hours of buffering before your DVD can be seen by the computer.

Do they actually have something like this!?!?
    Is the data safe? Interesting!
