  1. I edit video using ULEAD's VS 5.0 and I recently purchased the DVD Authoring Plug-in from their website. I have tried to burn VCDs using this tool but I have been unsucessful.

I edit and then convert to NTSC VCD (mpeg format) and then burn the CD-R using the plug-in. The Data is written but when I try to play it on my stand alone DVR5000 or Windows Media (by opening the *.DAT file) it does not work. ERRORs like "No combination of filters could be found to render the stream" show up with Windows Media.

I then tried to Author the same Mpeg1 file using a trial copy of Nero 5.5, and it worked fine. Whats wrong here??

    Thanks.

  2. Hi There ,,,,,

Had The Same Problem A While Back Everything Burned Fine
Could`nt Play Back With Power dvd Or Media Player Or Stand Alone, Then I Changed My CD Burner Then Everything Was Ok Plug-in Works A Treat,,,,, So Sounds Like Maybe Not 100% Compatible With Your Writer Check The Compatibility List
But Saying That My Old Writer Was On The List & Still Was No Good

  3. I think you answered your own question. If Nero burns it fine, then your plug-in looks suspect. I've noticed several retail video editors are now starting to offer some mickey mouse CD burning scheme. Ulead and Video Factory to name two. In my never humble opinion you are way better off using a application designed from the ground up for burning like Nero or Easy CD Creator (holding my nose when I said the later)

  4. Thanks Guys! I ended up downloading every patch on the Ulead Website and now VCDs burned using Uleads plug-in work with Windows Media...BUT NOT WITH MY STAND-ALONE (GoVideo DVR5000).
The Nero burned VCDs worked...barely with this player.

    I am so frustrated.

Try burning at a lower speed. I have had the best luck burning no faster than 8X. I can take the same source, but at max and it might play, breaking up all the while. When I burn at 8X it will play fine with no glitches.
