  1. Just the facts, ma'am:

    - Xvid source file with VBR audio.
    - I wanted to convert it over to DVD format.
    - Used VDub to read in file.
    - Saved out audio as WAV file (Vdub complained about the VBR audio).
    - Told VDub to use the saved WAV file for the audio.
    - Frameserved to TMPGEnc to encode video in MPEG-2 format.

The result looks good and has the video/audio in sync. FPS is 23.976. It's about 2.1 GB in size, which will fit with no problem onto a DVD-R.

The MPEG2 file is loaded into DVD MovieFactory 2. All I want it to do is create a DVD Video - no menus, etc. Everything seems ok. I tell MovieFactory to create an image file (.ISO) because I prefer to use DVD Decrypter to write my DVDs.

DVD MovieFactory reads in the file and tells me "This may take some time". After a bit of time, it reports that the operation was successful. I look on my hard drive and the ISO file is 5+ GB in size!

Any ideas? One possible problem is that the MPEG-2 file was 23.976 fps and I believe the DVD needs 29.97 fps (this may be hot air from me)? Aside from that, what would cause the dramatic file size change and what can I do to to 'fix' it?

    TIA......

Did you enable pulldown in TMPG?

If not and you still have the 23.976 fps mpg TMPG created, use the CLI pulldown program in the tools section.

Put Ulead's option to not convert compliant mpegs. The template needs to be set to use the same type of audio (mp2 or PCM), and the video bitrate in Ulead needs to be set equal or just above the bitrate setting you used in TMPG.
