im in the middle of creating a svcd with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.
i wanted to create a slide show before the first chapter kinda like
a preview of the first scene.the quality of the video is actually pretty
good.im using windvd to capture the pictures for the slide show.but
they dont seem to come out nearly as good as as what the video
looks like.can someone suggest what i should be using to capture
the images from the video for the slide show.or am i pretty much
stuck with the quality i get from windvd.
thanks

Are you capturing the pix off the source AVI or off the Mpeg-2 SVCD?
The quality will always be better from the AVI because of little or no compression. you should be able to open the AVI in Widvd to get the pix. If not, then try Virtualdub, TEMPGenc ect. Otherwise use scanned or imported pictures if your not happy with quality.
Good luck!Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
yeah im getting the pictures from the mpeg.i just think the quality of the picture is not nearly as good as the mpeg.but i guess ill just use the
ones im getting now.
thanks

Another option is to use VirtualDub (the MPEG2 version).
Open the video in Vdub and apply whatever filters you need to clean up and enhance the image (including resize if that helps), then pick the frame you want and select 'Video' -> 'Copy output frame to clipboard'.
You can get some pretty good frame captures this way.
