I'm trying to find a good DVD authoring program that will accept AC3 audio, but the only one around seems to be DVD Maestro, which is no longer available. Neither Premiere nor Vegas appear to accept AC3 files at all. I don't mind spending a few hundred (but not a few thousand) dollars. Any suggestions? Or am I wasting my time and should I just settle for mpg audio?

  2. Pinnacle Impression DVD PRO, Sonic DVDit PE, Sonic ReelDVD are all sub $1000. Some you can get for as little as $200 if you upgrade or bundle them with a purchase of a capture card or nle software. Videoguys has some good info on them and prices with a true 30 days money back guarantee. here's a link for a special they are running now on reeldvd: http://www.videoguys.com/reelDVD.html

    One more: http://www.videoguys.com/mpeg2.htm

    And another for impression: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/productpage.asp?product_id=464&langue_id=7

For something free and in beta, try DVDlab: http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/

And also Vegas Video+DVD, almost forgot. I think this specific product because vegas has a standard or stripped down version or you purchase the .ac3 plugin for some extra cash.

Checkout some of donopro posts here, I think he made or found a product matrix for alot of these authoring programs. Come to think of it, I think videoguys also has some similiar product matrix.
