  1. I just bought the hp300i and downloaded dvd x copy, dvd2one, and dvd-cloner. They are all not recognizing my dvd writer. dvd2one says error:destination directory does not exist, dvd-cloner says error:no dvd found. You may need to update ASPI layer and then says no dvd r/rw found and dvd x copy says error: dvdxcopy.exe . I am not exactly computer savy and would greatly appreciate any input on the situation. PI know my computer agknowledges the hp300i becuase it is under cd drives in device manager.

  3. Just download and run "ForceASPI" and that should fix the problem. Go here for that.

I don't know about the other programs, but DVD2ONE is not a burning program. You need a DVD burning program like Record Now or Nero.

DVD2ONE transcodes the DVD-9 to a DVD-5 either movie only or full disc. DVD-9 is a dual layer pressed DVD. DVD-5 is a single layer DVD which is either pressed or you can burn.
May the force be with you.

You added FORCEASPI which corrects any ASPI issues, thats good. But by any chance do you have ROXIO EASY CD creator ? If you do, it is VERY incompatible with other burn software. There is a good removal process for it here

Don't worry if not all the files are there.

If that is not the case, if you don't have that , then tell us more about your system (OS, etc...) exact errpr message

  11. Furthermore when I downloaded ASPI it says on the ASPI Installation Verification screen that ASPI is not installed properly. ONe or more of the components have been replaced with older versions of the software. HELP

I believe it's a self-extracting zip file so you should be able to just double click on the file to open it. If not then do a search for "WinZip" and download that program to unzip it.

  13. How do I do this. I unzipped now it says Simply extract the .ZIP file to a directory somewhere. Open a Command Prompt and run the appropriate .BAT file(s) as required.

I am really a computer dunce.

  15. OK just go here http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm and download the evaluation version of WinZip 8.1 then install that program. Now after WinZip is installed all you need to do is double click on the ForceASPI zip folder and WinZip will extract all the files to a folder it creates called Unzipped then from there you can run ForceASPI to install the ASPI layers after which you will need to re-boot the computer.

  16. Thank you I unzipped it and got dvd xcopy to actually work but then after said that it could not find my dvd drive. None of these programs see it for some reason. I called hp and the drive is installed properly. Maybe its label is incorrect maybe it os on the worng place. So far all my error messages have dissapeared now I just need these programs to recognize my burner. I also downloaded nero.
