  1. I recently downloaded TMPGEnc and keep getting an error message saying the "file cannot open or is not supported" when I try to open a Divx (.avi) file and try to encode it to an MPEG so I can play it as a VCD. I thought maybe it was a Divx codec problem, but I can already play Divx on my computer so don't I already have the codec then? Any ideas what could be the problem?

  2. I would say, open the DiVX in VirtualDub and frameserve it to TMPGenc. That should work.

  3. Or frameserve w/ avisynth. But the real problem is most likely that your DivX has a non-standard fps (13fps 21fps or something like that).
