I'm trying to go from DV home video to SVCD and I'm having a couple of problems. Here's the scenario.

I have a Nintaus DVD which seems to be fairly tolerant. Tried burning a couple of tests which has a slight problem with sync with audio at 32khz. I'll play a bit more with de muxing and laying the audio seperately to try to fix that. I've read that there are problems with divx to svcd audio syncing anyway.

I have a friend though with an old Sony player that had problems with the audio playing faster than the video, like chipmunk speed, then stopping while the video caught up and some slight video problems. I tried redoing the audio at 44.1khz and have a high pitched ringing on my Nintaus. I'm trying to find a workaround to that. Maybe just clipping off the top end in an editor.

I tried multiplexing a new audio track with tmpeg at 44.1 but the video had major problems so I did up a completely new mpeg. Maybe it would work better muxing in bbmpeg??????

The main problem is that with the rejigged audio on my player is that it gets about 5 minutes in and the audio cuts out. Somewhere near the end of the video, the sound comes back in where it left off so the audio is about 30mins behind at this point. Not sure if this is the player or TMPEG.

I also had some strange messages in VCDEasy about not detecting an mpeg1 audio stream and another about...Ican't remember exactly but something about markers I thinkor something like that. I didn't have these messages before.

Very wierd. Hopefully I will have fixed that problem by the time someone gets back to me. Otherwise.....
