  1. ...for this encrypted file! At least that's what Smart Ripper (under VPC) had to say.
I tried everything with this damn disk, DVD Backup 1.3, OSEX (File & Image mode), I even (uggh) booted into OS9 to try DVD Extractor but when I could get a file to my drive that old demon encrypted bit would pop up and DTOX wouldn't process the file. Out o sheer desperation I ran SmartRipper on the disk and sure enough it had quite a few encrypted blocks. No prob, SR will decrypt those blocks but them it came up with a "No Keys .. etc." stuff on one of the Vobs. What's up with that shit? Is there something else that is possible to try that I'm missing? I just HATE to admit defeat!

Disk:Eastern European disk authored by a company named SPI (go figure)
Title: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (at my computer)
    Format: PAL DVD-9

Anybody else have this problem, or better yet, a solution?

Play the DVD in Apple's DVD Player so you can set the region and then try it.

    I wish!
I tried it with DVD player open, I tried it with DVD player closed, I really wasted way too much time on a movie that I really don't need to back up anyway, I'm just worried that this same problem mightrear its ugly head on a DVD that is worth it. Thanks for the advice anyways. Anybody else?

I don't think that DVD Player can be open for DVDBackup to work. I believe what he was saying was for you to run the disk in DVD Player, then close DVD Player, then run DVDBackup and see if that works.
