  1. Hi there!

I tried to convert AVI to MPEG with TMPGENC however for some reason it did not automatically read the sound track (it previously did for other files) so I had to process it to get a separate WAV file and then open it within TMPGENC for the audio source. What I got as MPEG output was bad quality jerky sound, the video was OK. Maybe I should have set some specific options to get the right WAV file? What could I have done wrong with WAV? Btw why did not TMPGENC automatically read both video and sound from the source AVI file?

    Thanks

  2. I used direct stream copy to get the WAV file...the sound properties in VDUB specify that sound compression is unknown... but it plays perfect on my PC...

Using direct stream copy wont convert to wav. You must use full processing and if that does not work then it is probably ac3, www.dvdrhelp.com/virtualdubaudio

  4. I tried to follow instructions in the guide to run full processing mode but still getting 'no audio decompressor found' message when converting into AVI...installed AC3 codec, didn't help. File info still shows: Audio compression format unknown (tag 2000)....
