  1. I plan to purchase a new DVD table top DVD Recorder. I want to be able to transfer VHS tapes to DVD. After the transfer I want to add chapters titles with pictures that represent the place in the video for the chapter title.

Which new DVD Recorder does this?

  3. If you want to add chapter points (with pictures) in a menu with also pictures you can use any standalone dvd recorder to copy your source and then copy your video to your computer to Author with some authoring programs so you'll be able to create menu's chapter points and any other thing you need.
I don't think any standalone can do that... only through pc

Hope this helps and sorry for my poor english.

  4. sorry, no DVDrecorder will allow you to do that, but beleive me they are holy grail for standalone recorders, throw out the VHS recorder, I did I bought 2 Panasonic DVD recorders(the best out there IMO). I alos have a DVD buner in my computer to do exactly what your looking to do, I have a capture card in the computer also and a MPEG2 output card so I can do any type of DVD recording or burning I come up against. DVD recorders will never take the place of a burner, but a burner can nver take the place of a recorder also, both have their places. Burners great for backups and home video, recorders great for satelite and does a great job on VHS dubs and no probs here on DVD dubs either. Now just waiting for the $199 40 hour hard disc recorder by APEX to be released so I can grab 2 of those also.
