  1. Hi Im back

Sorry i havnt replied to your previous posts i have had a short holiday.

Im sorry for u guys with the trial i know it has a big X in the middle of your mpeg. Remember it is only a trial

I am using the 6.5 version.

My comp specs are as follows:

    1.2Ghz thunderbird
    256mb Ram ( upgrading to 1 gig soon )
    Geforce2 mx 32mb

A couple of stats I pulled off last nite

    Movie Size: 252mb - Length: 1 Hour 08 mins

TMGP: Total Conversion Time 352*288: 1 Hour 2 Mins
Ulead: Total Conversion Time 352*288: 39 mins 20 Secs

Nice reading huh. I did this in vcd format.

    Cool Huh

  2. Just downloaded the trial and tried to convert a test clip.

Could not set 480x576 SVCD !
    Encoder: by Ligos !
You know what people think of the quality of the Ligos encoder
I think if you use Ligos, just buy the Ligos package, it has so many more options.

How can you do a multi-pass encoding?

First test clip was better with TMPG and CCE. Will do more testing.

@2pac --> CCE is much quicker

  3. I have a Ulead's MediaStudio Pro Director's Cut V6.5. It is the same as MedaiStudio Pro V6.5 but without the graphic and paint modules. It uses the Ligos encoder and the VCD quality is poor. SVCDs are okay. The encoder would be great if Ulead would add the Performance setting as on the LSX35. Licensing requirements probably prevent it.

Found V6.5 accepts MPEG-2 encoded clips formerly not useable with V6 now ok. Let me know if you find a patch.

  5. i using mediastudio 6.0 and to be honest if u got tmpge keep it.
ulead seems very buggy and isn't that user friendly, also 2 get quality near tmpge it will slow down 2 a speed closer 2 tmpge.
try the trail and see 4 yourself.dont waste your money like i did.

  6. after about a couple of days using it and taking time out to test whats best for me
I have come to the conclusion that ulead is just for speed
    quality is horrid using ulead
tmpge is still the best in my oppionion other than cce sp

    Peter,

I use the latest version of Ligos' encoder and I think it's quality is tops! I encode high quality AVIs down to VCD and (eventually) DVD formats. I've used MGI Videowave and the I've done direct MPEG 1 and 2 captures with my ATI AIW 128. Though I haven't tried everything (free or otherwise)out there, my vote goes to Ligos.

How can you vote for something, if you didn't try the rest?

OOOPSS!! I clicked submit B4 I was finished. Anyways I'm sort of a high quality freak. And that is why I do it the way I do. But still I haven't tried every application out there.
