  1. I just bought some 2x dvd media from yesbuy.net http://www.yesbuy.net/2xdvwocas501.html <-- link I have a sony dru500a dvd burner and every time i try to burn a dvd that is around 4.36-7 gbs it gives me an error in nero

    7:58:17 AM #101 DVDR -1135 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1468
    Write error

    7:58:17 AM #102 TRANSFER -24 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1468
Could not perform end of Disc-At-Once

    7:58:17 AM #103 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1655
    Burn process failed at 2x (2,760 KB/s)

and when i burn a dvd that is not close to the full amount possible, say 2.5gb, then the dvd simple does not finish burning, it goes to 100% and just stays and the elapsed time keeps going on and on. My other media works which is a sony dvd+rw and some other cheap stuff i bought at a computer fair. one more thing is that when nero starts the burn, it doesnt say power-burn enabled like it used to for either media, but it doesnt seem to have a problem with the media that works when i do other stuff. thanx for your help

  3. Is your firmeware up to date? The most stable firmware right now is the 2.0f (2.0g has had some problems). Also you should probably stick with name brand media instead of these generic discs that you have no clue as to their quality. Usually when you get the problems with not being able to burn a full disc it is because of the media.

Try buying some Memorex 4X's that are on sale right now for $1 a piece and see what kind of results you get. I have burned over 200 Memorex 4X DVD-R's and all have burned perfectly at 4X. Some will say because they are CMC they are crap but I have had perfect burns with them and I think the 4X CMC's are much better quality then the older types. I use a Sony DRU-500a as well.

CompUSA has the Memorex on sale for $24.99 for 25, Amazon.com has 25 packs for $24.99 and free shipping, and Best Buy has 50 Packs for $49.99.
